Caritas Orphanaid Welfare programme is implementing a project which is aimed at assisting most vulnerable children from 7-17 years with health and education services in order to improve their wellbeing. The project is implemented at Siphofaneni an outstation of St. Philips Parish and started in March 2017. It benefits a total of 125 households with most vulnerable children every month (depending on their level of vulnerability) through the provision of services including but not limited to; school bags, study guides, homework assistance, HIV and TB screening, referrals to clinic, HIV and TB treatment initiation, food gardens, and nutritional supplements.

Caritas Swaziland programme amongst other interventions, deals mainly with impact mitigation for those households that have lost their economically active heads. Since its inception, its mandate is to respond to the ever increasing number of orphaned and vulnerable children in Swaziland. It has assisted orphans and their families, predominantly in rural areas to live happy, normal and productive lives as part of the mitigation strategies against the impact of HIV and AIDS. This program implements interventions mostly in rural areas.

Caritas Swaziland has continued to be a recipient of the generosity of the Taiwanese people through the Goodwill Ambassadors of Catholic Diocese of Taichung.

As recent as January 2017, Caritas received a large consignment of shoes and clothes to benefit approximately 17 000 of the most vulnerable people in the Kingdom particularly orphans, children and households with no visible source of income.

Orphan Aid Program, under Caritas Swaziland supervision, implements a lot of projects at most vulnerable children’ s side in the Country.

Today, we want to start sharing with you something about the NCPs Project.

There are 62 Neighbourhood Care Points (NCPs) located in the Lubombo Region, who support 2310 children: 1210 boys and 1100 girls. The children get services like informal education, feeding, health hygiene, psycho-social support and Early Child Education Development (ECED).

All these activities are implemented through the hard and valuable service of ours 310 Caregivers, who were identified in local communities and, then, trained and monitored in all areas of intervention from our team. The  last training they had was on human trafficking issues.
